3 questions to ask your electrician before hiring them.

Local domestic electrician in Bath - Small job specialist

Here are 3 questions to ask before hiring an electrician.

No matter the size of your electrical project, hiring a good electrician can be a tricky business so here are my top 3 questions to ask the electricians providing you with a quote.

1. Are you a registered electrician?

Any registered electrician will be checked every year to ensure they are insured with at least £2 million of liability insurance, and their qualifications are up to date. Any registered electrician will have no problem sharing their registration certificate with you.

2. Do you offer a warranty?

Standard practice is to offer 12 months warranty on any materials they supply, some contractors however will charge you labour within that 12 months to replace the faulty part. With Watt & Co. Electrical, we honour the manufactures warranty up to 3 years and don't charge any additional labour to replace the faulty part.

3. Can you provide any references?

Check out the quality of work before hiring an electrician. You can do this be asking for references of some recent customers however their clients may not be willing to have their information shared around. The next best thing to do is to check out their Google Reviews and look them up on social media. Any decent electrician should be happy to post their work or themselves online.

Using these 3 questions you should be able to hire a good electrician.

Take Care When Selecting an Electrician!!

Many Electricians in Bath and West Wiltshire are simply not interested in small electrical works. They want the choice jobs, and will drop you like a hot potato when a bigger, supposedly more lucrative, project comes in.

Others advertise as electricians having no qualifications.  They thrive on the basis that you don’t understand what they do and, as a result, overcharge for shoddy, and often dangerous, work.

I set up Watt & Co. Electrical in order to fill a gap in the domestic sector. I want to provide you with a quality service that provides you with exactly what you need from an electrician.
