Is your electrician actually registered for the work they carry out?
Who's ever used the electrical competent person website before?
It can be tricky choosing an electrician for your electrical work and you should always do your due diligence. The electrical competent person website is an easy place to check if your electrician is actually registered for the work they're carrying out. Things like fuseboard upgrades are notifiable work and you must use a registered electrician to carry out this work.
Out of the 12 electrical contractors registered in Corsham that can be viewed on the website, there are only 3 that are actually registered with their scheme operator to be able to carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR's) and we are 1 of those 3.
Technically anyone can carry out an EICR and many other contractors indeed do carry out this work but I'd be inclined to use a company that's registered for them.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR's) are a safety check of the electrical wiring and should not be breezed over by your electrician.
This is the website to check if your electrician is registered.
