What is a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit?

Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) is a mechanical ventilation system that works by bringing fresh, filtered air into your home via ducting. Often just the one vent on your landing.

One of the main benefits of PIV systems is that they improve indoor air quality. By constantly pumping fresh, filtered air in to your home from outside, your air quality will be much better. The fresh air will help to reduce the concentration of pollutants and allergens in the air, making it easier to breathe which is great if you have asthma!

PIV systems can also help to reduce humidity in your home. High humidity levels can lead to the growth of mold and mildew, pumping fresh air in to your home via a PIV unit 'refreshes' the air in your home and pushes out any damp air. Most people forget they need to open windows every now and then to increase airflow and ventilation.

Your trusted electrician in Bath and Corsham should easily be able to install a PIV unit in your loft with a vent on your landing ceiling and other vents can be installed if required.

If you're considering installing a PIV unit to improve your air quality then give us a call.

Take Care When Selecting an Electrician!!

Many Electricians in Bath and West Wiltshire are simply not interested in small electrical works. They want the choice jobs, and will drop you like a hot potato when a bigger, supposedly more lucrative, project comes in.

Others advertise as electricians having no qualifications.  They thrive on the basis that you don’t understand what they do and, as a result, overcharge for shoddy, and often dangerous, work.

I set up Watt & Co. Electrical in order to fill a gap in the domestic sector. I want to provide you with a quality service that provides you with exactly what you need from an electrician.
