Having a home re-wire doesn't have to be a big lump-sum expense.

There are many ways to re-wire a home and your budget may determine how you have your home re-wired, especially if you don't want to pay a lump-sum to have your home re-wired all in one go.
Electricians re-wire homes in Bath, Chippenham and West Wiltshire every week and most of these re-wires are completed as a single project but I've recently re-wired a home over 2 separate jobs about a year apart. This house wasn't overdue a re-wire but this was going to be the 'forever home' of the owners so they wanted to do all the 'behind the scenes' work in sections so they could get certain rooms completely finished and decorated as their budget allowed.
In this particular re-wire we first re-wired the upstairs lights and sockets so owners can get their bedrooms decorated and looking homely and so they can get their home office fully functional. They weren't worried about the kitchen because it was functional and their lounge was in a relatively good condition and they could make it work for a year or 2 before they had it re-done.
Fast forward a year alter and we've just completed the downstairs wiring whilst they're having a kitchen renovation. In some houses we've re-wired the house over multiple visits but doing it room by room. This will make the overall project more expensive but it gives you more flexibility with your budget.
