It still amazes me how many fuseboards that are 40+ years old are still in use!
An old re-wireable fuse board will almost always lack the protection found in a modern fuseboard (unless an upfront RCD has been installed)
Any time new wiring is being installed to something like some new downlights, your electricians needs to make sure the fuseboard is up to date. Sometimes this may been replacing it, installing an additional fuseboard or just replacing some parts internally.
