Do I need to have more sockets installed?

Installation of a new double socket next to a bed by an electrician in Bath

A lot of people don't consider whether or not they need more sockets installed within their home but you should give it some thought and see if the additional sockets will make your home safer and have better functionality.

The modern home will have a number of electrical devices such as phone chargers, laptops, routers, perhaps even multiple computer monitors! I've noticed many occasions when doing other small electrical jobs that extension leads are commonly used as a permanent solution to a lack of sockets which definitely shouldn't be the case! If you are using extension leads then you should consider having some more sockets installed.

I've also found a lot of sockets are always in the WORST place they could possibly be. I'm incredibly grateful that I was able to re-wire my house and make sure that all the sockets (Especially the USB sockets) were actually accessible and easy to use.

Another time you might want to consider having extra sockets installed is when you're having a kitchen refit. Much like my house when I first moved in, there was no socket for the dishwasher and only 1 double socket for 3 other appliances which meant constantly unplugging something I wasn't using and pluggin something else in. It might only seem like small inconvenience but it is a bit of a pain sometimes! Having those extra sockets really did make all the difference. Motorised or pop up sockets can even be hidden within your worktop for a sleek finish!

If you need some additional sockets installed you should definitely get in touch :)

Take Care When Selecting an Electrician!!

Many Electricians in Bath and West Wiltshire are simply not interested in small electrical works. They want the choice jobs, and will drop you like a hot potato when a bigger, supposedly more lucrative, project comes in.

Others advertise as electricians having no qualifications.  They thrive on the basis that you don’t understand what they do and, as a result, overcharge for shoddy, and often dangerous, work.

I set up Watt & Co. Electrical in order to fill a gap in the domestic sector. I want to provide you with a quality service that provides you with exactly what you need from an electrician.
