5 Tips for choosing an electrician in Corsham

Are you looking for tips for hiring an electrician? How do you find a high quality electrician with so many out there?

In this article, explore what to look for when hiring an electrician.

Tip 1 - Local recommendations

As an electrician a lot of my work comes from word of mouth and it does for a lot of other trades too. Ask around for recommendations so you have a few local electricians to pick from.

Tip 2 - Check they're registered

Checking your electrician is registered is completely free to do and it will only take a few minutes using a website like www.registeredcompetentperson.co.uk

If you're electrician is registered then they will have their work inspected every year. It also means that have qualifications and insurance.

Tip 3 - Check their insurance and qualifications

I know I've just said as a registered electrician they will have insurance but insurance plans lapse so it's always good to ask for a copy of their insurance to make sure you're covered.

Tip 4 - Check their online profiles

Have a look at their google listing, website and facebook page etc and check the quality of their work. This also gives you a chance to look at their reviews from past customers.

Tip 5 - Get more than 1 quote

Getting more than 1 quote means you can compare the quotes and find out which electrician you're most likely to get on with.

The cheapest quote most likely wont necessarily mean it's the best. Usually paying more will get you a better electrician and a higher quality of work and aftercare.

Take Care When Selecting an Electrician!!

Many Electricians in Bath and West Wiltshire are simply not interested in small electrical works. They want the choice jobs, and will drop you like a hot potato when a bigger, supposedly more lucrative, project comes in.

Others advertise as electricians having no qualifications.  They thrive on the basis that you don’t understand what they do and, as a result, overcharge for shoddy, and often dangerous, work.

I set up Watt & Co. Electrical in order to fill a gap in the domestic sector. I want to provide you with a quality service that provides you with exactly what you need from an electrician.
